Rook Irwin Sweeney win prestigious Law Society award
Rook Irwin Sweeney has been awarded the top prize at the Law Society Awards – the most prestigious awards ceremony for solicitors in England and Wales. in the category of ‘excellence in upholding the rule of law.’
Announcing the award, the Law Society recognised that Rook Irwin Sweeney has “demonstrated that they have gone above and beyond in upholding the rule of law. Bringing important test cases against the central government has demonstrably improved the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society during the pandemic and will have a lasting impact on society and future policy making. Particularly for a new initiative, their demonstrable level of success, activity and long-term public impact is highly inspirational, and the judges look forward to seeing this work continue.”
Law Society of England and Wales president I. Stephanie Boyce congratulated the winners adding, “Solicitors help so many people – including the most vulnerable in society – in so many ways and it is a great pleasure to be able to recognise the efforts of our outstanding winners.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the hard work, skill and dedication of their counterparts across England and Wales, who continue to champion the rule of law and to defend the right to justice for all despite the difficult circumstances so many of us have faced in the past year.”
We are delighted to accept this award and thank all of our clients, who have of course made this possible.
