Senior solicitor role

We are recruiting for a full-time solicitor (5 years+ PQE), specialising in education law.


The company

Rook Irwin Sweeney LLP is a specialist public law and human rights firm in England and Wales. The  Partners are experienced public law & human rights lawyers who have acted in many leading public law cases over the last decade. The firm has a particular focus on the rights and interests of disabled children and adults and their families, and the three Partners have successfully taken cases to secure their rights to the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.


All three Partners are highly ranked in the legal directories and are recognised as leaders in their fields. Two of the Partners are based in London and one is based in Bristol.


The role

Following our launch in April 2020, we are now looking to grow our team through the recruitment of a full-time senior solicitor (5 years+ PQE) with a particular expertise in education law.  It would be an advantage to have experience in other areas of the firm’s specialisms, but the primary focus will be on education law.  We are open to receiving applications from applicants who need flexibility in terms of location.


Who we are looking for

As a senior solicitor you will be used to managing your own caseload as well as working directly alongside senior colleagues.  We expect applicants to have at least 5 years post qualification experience of running education law cases. This must include experience of judicial reviews as well as appeals to Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.

Successful candidates will also need to demonstrate a passion for public law and human rights law, as well as a track record in excellent client care, organisational and communication skills. You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment within a team, as well as being comfortable using your own initiative.
