Rook Irwin Sweeney continues to grow with appointment of specialist education Partner

Public Law and Human Rights firm Rook Irwin Sweeney LLP continues its growth with the appointment of education law specialist Caroline Barrett, who joins the firm as a Partner. Caroline will be based in Cambridge and will advise clients nationwide on a range of public law and human rights matters, with a particular focus on education law.   She is also ranked as a ‘rising star’ in the Legal 500 for her work in the Court of Protection.

Caroline’s appointment sees the firm grow to five lawyers, following its launch by Partners Alex Rook, Anne-Marie Irwin and Polly Sweeney in April 2020. The firm also recruited public law specialist Alice Cullingworth in July 2020, who is based in Bristol.

Since its launch at the height of the first national lockdown, the firm has acted in a string of high-profile public law and human rights cases, many involving the protection of rights during the pandemic.

Recognised by the legal directories as “extremely efficient and knowledgeable on Special Educational Needs matters”, Caroline is also “singled out for her expertise in health and social care, as well as her Court of Protection practice.”
