Anne-Marie Irwin discusses direct payments on BBC Access All

Our Anne-Marie Irwin spoke to the BBC Access All podcast this week about the importance of public authorities acting rationally and allowing flexibility when it comes to individuals using direct payments to fund care.

The podcast discussed the situation of Nathan, who has a life-limiting condition, and whose local authority tried to ‘claw back’ unused direct payments he had saved to pay his personal assistants to support him on a holiday abroad for the purposes of respite.
