Emma has worked for 9 years in the legal profession as a paralegal and solicitor. She had a stroke in 2020 and, following a period away from work, she joined Rook Irwin Sweeney as an Administrator in July 2023. Emma works on a part time basis and provides administrative support to the solicitors in the team such as document preparation, file opening, compliance and billing.
Emma’s lived experience of disability continues to inform her work and she is passionate about increasing diversity in the legal profession.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys walking, spending time with her dog Eric and writing poetry. During the pandemic, she co-edited Lockdown Lawyers, an anthology of poetry on how the COVID-19 crisis had affected legal aid lawyers and the provision of advice and advocacy. All proceeds were donated to the Law Centres Network to continue their work upholding justice and advancing equality for local people and communities.
